Weekly review: week from 2011-10-17 to 23

Last week

The symposium was successful. I did not do much work, partly due to the traveling and partly because somehow I was feeling too relaxed. I will have a lot to finish this week.

  • Work
    • [-] Write up the new result, make sure the proof is correct.
    • [ ] Start to write up the proposal (at least the outline).
    • [-] Update, review and re-organize my research plan: hierarchical scheduling, multiple modes, dense systems, robust, system ID, adaptive, applications, implementation/simulation, etc.
    • [X] Prepare for and go to the symposium, get to know people.
    • [-] Update BibTeX database, organize the downloaded papers.
    • [ ] Course planning, committee.
    • [X] Read math & optimal control.
    • [X] Moved my VCS to Mercurial/git on bitbucket.
    • Pending: attracting set for schedulability of more general dynamics, ML – bandit, tech report for CDC paper, update personal website and CV, mechanism design, develop my urgency-based scheduling idea.
  • Personal
    • [-] Try to go to bed early and rise early, eat well, exercise (but travelling may disrupt).

Plan for next week

The focus of this week will be: finish writing up my results, organizing my committee and preparing for proposal.

    • [ ] Finish writing up the new result.
    • [ ] Start writing the proposal (outline, what to include, what are “future work”).
    • [ ] Send paper review.
    • [ ] Course planning, committee.
    • [ ] Update new ideas and review my research plan: hierarchical scheduling, multiple modes, robust, system ID, adaptive, applications, implementation/simulation, etc.
    • [ ] Reimbursement for my travel.
    • [ ] Develop my procedure for version control and regular backup.
    • [ ] Update BibTeX database, organize the downloaded papers.
    • [ ] (really want to) update personal website and CV.
    • Pending: attracting set for schedulability of more general dynamics, ML – bandit, tech report for CDC paper, mechanism design, develop my urgency-based scheduling idea.
  • Personal
    • [ ] Resume exercising.
    • [ ] Go to bed early and rise early.
    • [ ] Break often during work.
